Reporting Errors to the Credit Bureaus

It’s been a while since I have done a public service post, but I recently came across information at work that I thought I would share with everyone.

Following is a form letter that I obtained which you can use to report inaccuracies to the three major credit bureaus. (I don’t promise they’ll fix the problem, but do keep a copy of your letter in your file, so if it comes up–say, when you’re trying to get a car loan–you can whip this out and show the lender that not only is the info on your credit report wrong, but you have already reported it.)

Enclosed please find [letter proving you’re in the right, detailed history of the problem, etc.], which should clear up the confusion.
